This wedding singer has a very busy weekend lined up for her this weekend. I am performing at The Empires, Belfast, Northern Ireland tomorrow afternoon with the fantastic The Dandy Horses as part of the Belnash Festival for singer songwriters in Northern Ireland. Then on Sunday I am performing at a wedding fayre at the Island Civic Centre in Lisburn. Would love to see some of you there! It is a great way of hearing what I do in an informal setting. Playing between 2pm and 5pm.
The wedding singer business around Belfast and Northern Ireland is booming! Spring has well and truly arrived and requests are coming in daily for wedding ceremonies in chapels, churches, castles and hotels all around Northern Ireland!

Well the rain may be pouring in Belfast, Northern Ireland today, but that didn't stop this wedding ceremony singer getting to the church on time and it definitely didn't stop the bride getting to the church either! I was performing at a beautiful religious ceremony at Holy Cross Chapel, Crumlin Rd, Belfast today. As always the bride looked absolutely beautiful and the priest was a very welcoming chap.
I had never been to this chapel before and it was a very grand venue for a wedding ceremony. The acoustics were fantastic and the violin sounded so sweet when I was performing my new instrumental, Ave Maria by Bach on solo violin. I certainly enjoyed being able to perfrom several pieces on the solo violin as well as working as wedding singer. Brides often ask for a little advice about what they should have performed on their big day. Everyone will be different. However, I think a bit of variety is always lovely. So a wedding singer and also a wedding musician. I love getting the chance to play solo violin and also sing and play guitar. perhaps an instrumental of Canon in D for walking down the aisle and perhaps Lord of the Dance for a triumphant exit. Remember. very often priests will only allow hymns to be sung at the ceremony. However, you can often get away with an instrumental version of a popular song. Today I played and instrumental version of One Thousand Years by Christina Perri for the entrance. Perfect! It is amazing how busy this Northern Ireland wedding singer has been with church and chapel wedding ceremony enquiries! In fact, I have had several brides want to make church ceremony bookings for the same day. That really doesn't happen very often! Lol. I always hate having to say no too, I'd rather be able to perform at all the church wedding ceremonies that I can. It keeps me on my toes and keeps my fingers nimble for the fiddle too.
I am also really busy getting ready to leave Belfast, Northern Ireland and head to Ethiopia with The Dandy Horses for our big Irish Embassy gig in Addis Abbaba. Heading off in less than 5 weeks. I love playing withe the guys in the band as they are such talented and versatile musicians. We generally perform all original songs and music, but we also perform at weddings receptions when the notion takes us. If you are interested in booking them, just get in touch with me and I'll see if we can help. The band will perform at church wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships and receptions. So hard to believe it is almost a year since the launch of our last EP, 'Hat On The Sun'. ![]() Just found this beautiful photo of Ryan & Katie Vail. I played at their church wedding ceremony in 2013.... can't believe it has been so long. They had a lovely intimate wedding ceremony in Culmore, Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. You see... I travel all over Northern Ireland! It was a beautiful day and she chose such wonderful music, Gabriel's Oboe - one of my favourite. We then left Northern Ireland and went to Donegal for the wedding reception. As much as I love performing at weddings in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I do so love a little trip away. Below is a little clip of Gabriel's Oboe from YouTube. I really should get a recording of me performing this. Such a great choice for a wedding ceremony. I'm not only a wedding singer in Belfast, but also a violin player.... Northern Ireland wedding singer goes to Ethiopia!! Yeehaaa... quite exciting really. I have toured all over the world, but
haven't been away anywhere for the last few years so will be lovely to get a wee holiday... and perform for the Irish ambassador at the same time. So, one weekend, wedding ceremony singer in a church in Belfast and the next.... Northern Ireland singer in Addis Ababa. Hehe, exciting life! Get to see so much. That's another reason why I love being a wedding singer... I get to see some beautiful wedding locations throughout Belfast and Northern Ireland and I always see people at their happiest. Perfect! Well it is the first weekend in a long time that I have no wedding ceremonies, no civil partnerships and no wedding
receptions. So it is definitely time to get the guitar out, sit in front of the fire and learn a few new songs! Not before a good cup of Northern Ireland tea and a Tunnocks tea cake. Ah... the life of a wedding singer is hard! Just remember... 10% discount for all bookings made in January, You can check out my wedding packages and prices here. Soooooo busy.... putting decorations away, cleaning the house and learning a few new wedding songs.
Don't forget, there is a 10% discount if you book wedding ceremonies, civil ceremonies or wedding receptions within the month of January. Basically, if you book my to sing at your wedding this month! lol |
